Homegrown Tastes South Africa premieres on BBC Lifestyle

Renowned chef and TV personality Lorna Maseko hosts the new TV series Homegrown Tastes South AfricaThe series premieres on Wednesday 23rd March at 8 pm on BBC Lifestyle (DStv channel 174).

Celebrating the flair of our local culinary landscape, Homegrown Tastes takes viewers on a series of flavourful journeys across South Africa. In each episode, Lorna is joined by a special celeb guest and, together, they meet the chefs and personalities behind our best street food and haute cuisine. Along the way, Lorna will explore the exceptional ingredients grown in South Africa as she samples fine wines, seafood, decadent desserts, and more. To close each episode, she celebrates the hero ingredients of the region by preparing her own delicious version of what the area has to offer.

Homegrown Tastes South Africa is part of BBC Lifestyle’s local line-up, which showcases the best in fresh local content every Wednesday at 8 pm. This 10-part series was produced by one of the leading production companies in Africa, Rapid Blue.

Lorna Maseko is an internationally renowned chef and TV personality who has inspired audiences with her creative signature dishes. She grew up in the township of Alexandra, where she began her career in ballet at the age of 9. Lorna is a jack of all trades. In addition to being a celebrated chef, she is also a bestselling author, choreographer, executive producer, accomplished master of ceremonies, and business owner.
