Two women, Martie Pretorius (Jana Kruger) and Brandi Jacobs (Melissa de Vries), find themselves at the centre of the drama. Brandi, from the local police, believes it’s Cape gangs beginning to sink their claws into the small community, but Martie has another theory. The wounds. The plastic bag. The Bible verse. She’s seen it before — fifteen years ago. A serial killer known as Prediker (Preacher).

A stunning local setting

The series was filmed in and around the Cape Peninsula, from Kommetjie to Melkbosstrand, as well as the northern suburbs of Cape Town, using its breathtaking coastal setting to create a striking contrast between beauty and darkness.

A proven creative team

The team responsible for Die oord includes award-winning writer and director Eva du Preez and WolflightFilms, led by Roelof Storm, the same team behind the SAFTA-nominated drama series Niggies.

A group of young actors will undoubtedly make their mark with Die oordMinke Marais appears as Mia du Preez, Luandri Reynders as Marioli Groenewald, Angelo Johnson as Joshua Groenewald, and Heinrich Wentzel as Stefan Cilliers. Damian de Villiers and Christie van Niekerk play siblings JP and Jacomien Louw.

Die oord premieres tonight, 14 April, at 20:00 on kykNET (DStv Channel 144) and will also be available on DStv Stream and Catch Up.
