BritBox added to DStv’s app offerings from this June
The best of British TV will be available to DStv subscribers to add to their viewing experience from 6 June 2023. The subscription video streaming service BritBox, a joint venture between UK broadcasting powerhouses the BBC and ITV, will be available as an app on the Explora Ultra and Streama devices and as an add-to-bill option for all DStv subscribers, ushering in an expanded world of entertainment for customers, with more choice and value.
As DStv strives to make entertainment more convenient for customers, so they can have a one-stop shop for all their streaming needs, BritBox brings a wide range of new and exclusive titles plus hundreds of hours of classic content. From dramas and comedies to crime, documentaries, lifestyle shows and murder mysteries – all with that distinctive British seal of excellence and now more accessible to DStv customers, providing an even richer viewing experience.
With this, customers can enjoy an array of content on one device and remote – including Showmax, Netflix SA, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and YouTube Kids – which were previously added to the Explora Ultra decoder and DStv Streama digital media player.

The addition of the BritBox app to a DStv Explora Ultra and Streama connected to the internet opens the door to unmissable content, expertly curated and available ad-free and on-demand.
From 6 June 2023 DStv customers can enjoy the best of both worlds, with linear broadcasting and the addition of the BritBox streaming service – costing just R99.99 per month after a 7-day Free Trial – creating a fuller and more comprehensive content-viewing experience.
