Die Kantoor Season 2 confirmed at FAME Week Africa 2026
MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, has officially confirmed that Die Kantoor, the South African adaptation of the globally acclaimed comedy format The Office, will return for a second season. Die Kantoor Season 2 announcement was made by Nomsa Philiso, Chief Content Officer: Africa at MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, during the opening session of FAME Week Africa 2026, Africa’s premier creative industry trade platform.
Season 1 of Die Kantoor premiered on kykNET and Showmax in January 2026, introducing audiences to the awkward, hilarious and often chaotic world of Deluxe Processed Meats, a distinctly South African workplace populated by an unforgettable group of employees.

Led by head writer and director Bennie Fourie and produced by Rapid Blue, part of BBC Studios, the series featured an ensemble cast led by SAFTA and Fleur du Cap winner Albert Pretorius (Niggies; Nêrens, Noord-Kaap) as Flip, the office manager. The cast includes SAFTA winner Schalk Bezuidenhout (Kanarie, Hotel), screen legend Lida Botha (Die Kwiksilvers), Carl Beukes (Jozi, The Shakedown), Silwerskerm winner Ilse Oppelt (Oh Schuks I’m Gatvol, Fishy Fêshuns), Daniah de Villiers (Mia in Mia and the White Lion), Mehboob Bawa (Bhai in Bhai’s Cafe), former KFM presenter Sipumziwe Lucwaba, and newcomer Gert du Plessis.

The first season was recognised at this year’s kykNET Silwerskerm Film & TV Awards, receiving five nominations and winning two awards, including Best Lead Performer in a Comedy for Albert Pretorius and Best Supporting Performer in a Comedy for Schalk Bezuidenhout.
“We are delighted to confirm that Die Kantoor will return for a second season,” says Nomsa Philiso, Chief Content Officer: Africa at MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company. “The show is a fantastic example of creativity and talent within the South Africa’s television industry. As we continue creating opportunities for local storytellers and producers, we are thrilled to see this much-loved series return and build on the success of its first season.”
Creator, head writer and director Bennie Fourie added: “We were overwhelmed by the response to the first season and by the fact that audiences from all walks of life embraced this uniquely South African take on The Office. We can’t wait to bring more awkward moments and even more chaos to Season 2.”
Further details regarding production and broadcast dates for Die Kantoor Season 2 will be announced in due course.
