Production has also officially concluded on iThonga, with all 260 episodes now completed. As the curtain falls, iThonga prepares to take its final bow, closing off a powerful chapter in Mzansi storytelling. iThonga will reach its natural conclusion on Friday, 27 February at 8:30pm.
Genesis delivers its final act on Mzansi Magic

Production on the Mzansi Magic telenovela has officially concluded. Genesis, which has captured the hearts of Mzansi viewers with its portrayal of the world of the gospel music industry, was first of its kind in Mzansi. Set in the high-stakes world of gospel music, where loyalty is tested and betrayal lurks around every corner. The series features an all-star cast including Baby Cele, Buyile Mdladla, Nay Maps, Gaosi Raditholo, Kealeboga Masango and KB Motsilanyane. Though production has wrapped, Genesis continues its on-screen journey, building toward its highly anticipated conclusion. Genesis will continue to air until April 2026, keeping viewers engaged as its storyline unfolds.
House of Zwide takes its final bow on e.tv

The e.tv popular soapie House of Zwide, will draw to a close in 2026, concluding their creative arcs at the height of their storytelling power as the channel looks ahead to fresh programming. House of Zwide will air its final episode on 26 June 2026, after five seasons that turned a fashion dynasty into one of South African television’s most compelling worlds. Final curtain call for daily drama Scandal!

The SAFTA winning soap opera Scandal! will conclude its broadcast on e.tv in June 2026, marking the conclusion of more than twenty years of continuous production and viewership. Black Gold ends sooner than expected

BET Africa officially shut down on January 1, 2026, ending more than a decade of broadcasting on the continent. Launched in August, Black Gold quickly became a must-watch drama, set in KwaZulu-Natal, exploring betrayal, family legacy, and the fight for power. At its centre is Nomalanga Shozi as Amandla Zungu, a principled woman upended by treachery, alongside SAFTA-winning Dawn Thandeka King as the cunning Florence Zungu and Sello Maake kaNcube as mining tycoon Tom Motsepe. Other cast members include Warren Masemola, Sweet Guluva, Thulani Mtsweni, and Nomsa Buthelezi.
Shaka iLembe concludes a chapter of Africa’s first epic drama

The third and final season of the epic drama Shaka iLembe premieres on Mzansi Magic in 2026. Global star Nomzamo Mbatha returns as Executive Producer and in her iconic role as Queen Nandi, leading a stellar cast in Africa’s first epic drama. Produced by BOMB! Productions, the series has created tens of thousands of jobs and showcased South Africa’s landscapes while becoming the most-awarded drama in SAFTA history, with international recognition. The final season chronicles Shaka’s thunderous reign, a saga of vision, glory, and betrayal. As rival kings gather, an assassin’s spear shatters trust, Queen Nandi hides a devastating secret, and colonial forces approach. Smokes and Mirrors goes off air in April

The popular telenovela Smoke & Mirrors is set to wrap up its final season, bringing its gripping narrative to a satisfying close.
