e.tv shines with multiple nominations at the SAFTAs

e.tv celebrate an outstanding slate of nominations at this year’s South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs), reaffirming the channel’s commitment to bold storytelling, exceptional performances, and industry-leading production across multiple genres.

From gripping telenovelas and beloved soaps to impactful current affairs and compelling television films, e.tv’s local productions continue to resonate with audiences while earning recognition from the industry’s highest honours.

Leading the nominations is Kelders van Geheime, which has secured nominations for Best Telenovela, Best Actress in a Telenovela (Sandra Prinsloo), Best Supporting Actress in a Telenovela (Brümilda van Rensburg – Season 1), Best Supporting Actor in a Telenovela (Dawid Minnaar – Season 1), Best Achievement in Scriptwriting – Telenovela, Best Achievement in Original Music/Score – Telenovela, and Most Popular TV Soap (Public Vote).

Scandal on ETV

Scandal! continues its legacy of excellence with multiple nominations, including Best Supporting Actress in a TV Drama for Johannah Mamarumo Marokane and Londeka Sishi, Best Supporting Actor in a TV Soap for Litlhogonolo Litlhakanyane, as well as Best Achievement in Directing (TV Soap), Best Achievement in Scriptwriting (TV Soap), and a nomination in the Most Popular TV Soap (Public Vote) category.

In the presenter category, Devi Sankaree Govender has been nominated for Best TV Presenter for her work on Devi Show, further cementing her reputation as one of the country’s most respected broadcast journalists.

e.tv’s commitment to factual storytelling and investigative journalism is also recognised in the Best Factual Programme category, with nominations for Confessions of an AssassinWhy I Killed Chris Hani – An Annika Larsen Special Report, and a special episode of Devi Show (Girls and Boys Town). Checkpoint has also secured a nomination for Best Current Affairs Programme.

In the television film category, Red Zone is nominated for Best Movie Made for TV, while Bloedhond earns recognition for Best Achievement in Original Music/Score – Feature Film, and Best Achievement in an Original Song – Feature Film Klip Anker Baai – Malakai Productions.

The Most Popular TV Soap (Public Vote) category sees e.tv strongly represented with nominations for House of Zwide, Isiphetho: Destiny, Isitha: The EnemyKelders van GeheimeScandal!, and Smoke & Mirrors, a clear reflection of the channel’s enduring connection with viewers across the country.
