Netflix has officially unveiled the first-look images from Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 3, confirming that the hit drama will return on 27 August. The new season picks up after the explosive Season 2 finale, with Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) finally taking her place at the Bellaire family’s table as a deadly power struggle threatens to tear the empire apart. Here’s everything we know so far, including the release date, cast, story, first-look photos and the latest update on Season 4.

What happens in Beauty in Black Season 3?

Season 2 ended with Kimmie turning the tables on the Bellarie family, transforming from an outsider fighting to survive into one of the most powerful figures in their empire. Season 3 picks up in the aftermath of that dramatic shift, with Kimmie finally earning a seat at the Bellarie table. But power comes at a price, and her new position quickly pulls her into a dangerous family feud that threatens to destroy everything the Bellaries have built.

As rivalries intensify and loyalties are tested, Kimmie is forced into an uneasy alliance with her former adversary, Mallory. Together, they must navigate a ruthless world of blackmail, revenge and long-buried secrets while trying to stay one step ahead of a family willing to turn on its own. With the Bellarie empire hanging in the balance, every decision could have deadly consequences.

Kimmie’s biggest challenge is only just beginning

Although Kimmie emerged victorious at the end of Season 2, her journey is far from over. The new season explores what happens after the underdog finally wins, asking whether she can hold onto the power she’s fought so hard to claim. Rather than simply surviving, Kimmie must now lead, make impossible choices and protect herself from enemies lurking both inside and outside the Bellarie family.

The stakes are also higher than ever for those around her. As old betrayals resurface and buried secrets threaten to unravel the family’s carefully guarded empire, familiar faces find themselves pushed into increasingly dangerous territory, setting the stage for what promises to be the drama’s most explosive season yet.

Beauty in Black Season 3 cast

Taylor Polidore Williams returns as Kimmie, the former dancer who has become one of the most influential figures in the Bellarie empire, while Crystle Stewart reprises her role as Mallory, whose unlikely partnership with Kimmie reshapes the family’s future. They are joined by returning stars Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan, with several supporting cast members also returning as the Bellarie family’s story continues to expand.

Ahead of Season 3’s premiere, Netflix surprised fans by renewing Beauty in Black for a fourth season, reversing an earlier decision that would have seen the third season conclude the series. The announcement means Tyler Perry will continue exploring the Bellarie family’s story beyond the upcoming chapter, giving viewers even more to look forward to after Season 3 arrives in August.

Beauty in Black remains one of Tyler Perry‘s biggest streaming successes, with the filmmaker continuing to serve as the series’ creator, writer, director and executive producer. Produced by Tyler Perry Studios, the drama has become a global hit for Netflix thanks to its high-stakes family conflict, unexpected twists and memorable characters, cementing its place among the streamer’s most talked-about original dramas.
