e.tv is adding fresh momentum to weeknight viewing with the launch of its brand-new The Golden Hour, featuring the highly anticipated original local drama, eGagasini: Waves of Change. The series is set to premiere on Monday, 29 June 2026 at 19:30. Get ready for drama shaped by ambition, family conflict, betrayal, love, music and legacy.

Featuring some of South Africa’s most celebrated actors alongside exciting new talent, the show is a showcase of e.tv‘s commitment to delivering authentic, high-quality local stories that resonate with audiences across the country.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Durban’s evolving music scene, eGagasini: Waves of Change follows three ambitious best friends from Umlazi, Lwandle, Njabulo and Sihle, whose lives change forever after a viral music video catapults their trio, Truth or Dare, into the spotlight. Their dreams of stardom quickly become entangled in a devastating secret when a tragic accident aboard a yacht leaves a young woman dead. Bound together by guilt and fear, the trio enter a pact of silence to protect their future.

Meet the cast of eGagasini: Waves of Change

Leading the cast is veteran actor Meshack Mavuso as Senzo Dube, a legendary music producer and founder of Umlilo Records. Once a pioneer who helped shape Durban’s music landscape, Senzo is determined to restore his struggling empire to its former glory. Joining him is Gugu Gumede as Phumelela Dube, Senzo’s wife, business partner and the strategic powerhouse behind Umlilo Records. Smart, sophisticated and fiercely ambitious, Phumelela becomes the driving force behind the signing of Truth or Dare and their meteoric rise. Nolwazi Tsebesha as Noxolo Dube, the adored only child of Phume and Senzo, a confident, intelligent, and popular matric head girl who excels effortlessly. Raised as her father’s “princess,” she carries both privilege and pressure. Drawn to the world of Truth or Dare, her life is set on a path that will change everything.

Aphelele Shezi as Njabulo, a stylish producer, hustler and visionary determined to build his own music empire. Nomfundo Radebe as Sihle, a bold and ambitious vocalist who believes stardom is her only path to the life she deserves. Londeka Mkhwanazi as Lwandle, a church-raised singer blessed with extraordinary talent but burdened by impossible choices that threaten to destroy everything she holds dear.
