Multichoice unveils the first teaser for Shaka Ilembe
Get ready to be enthralled with a diverse range of thrilling shows from MultiChoice’s flagship South African video entertainment brands, including Mzansi Magic, kykNet, and M-Net. Among these highly-anticipated offerings is the twelve-part, prime-time drama Shaka Ilembe, which promises to captivate viewers with its compelling storyline.
The series will feature some of the country’s biggest stars and introduce fresh faces, destined for future success. Shaka Ilembe depicts the great kingdoms of the AmaThethwa, the AmaNdwandwe, AmaQwabe, AmaHlubi and AmaZulu, amongst others. Against this epic backdrop, we see the heroic rise of Shaka. This series was made in Africa, by Africans for Africans and global viewers.

Meet the cast
The star-studded cast includes Isithembiso and The Republic actor Lemogang Tsipa playing the titular role of Shaka (adult king) and newcomer Ntando Zondi (boy king) while Isibaya leading lady Nomzamo Mbatha will portray Queen Nandi, with The River actor Thembinkosi Mthembu starring as King Dingiswayo. Uzalo star Wiseman Mncube will play King Zwide, while Gomora actor Senzo Radebe has been cast as King Senzangakhona.
Nomzamo Mbatha will also serve as executive producer for the Shaka Ilembe, helmed by Isibaya creators Bomb Productions in partnership with MultiChoice.
