What to watch on Netflix in October 2026
Netflix in October 2026 is bringing the drama, the romance, the family chaos and, naturally, a few questionable life decisions to Netflix. On the South African front, the month gets personal with the return of Seriously Single Too, as Dineo and Noni discover that friendship, love and a Cape Town getaway do not always mix as neatly as they should. Then, just when you thought family introductions could not get any more stressful, How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents arrives to throw an engagement, two families and a whole lot of cultural expectations into one very complicated celebration.
But it is not all local chaos. Internationally, October brings the revealing four-part TYSON, the return of Love Is Blind with its Boston singles and the return of Assane Diop in Lupin Part 4. Your October watchlist is officially looking busy.

Seriously Single Too – 16 October 2026

Dineo and Noni are back but their friendship is looking considerably less single and considerably more complicated. In Seriously Single Too, the besties find themselves on opposite sides of a major relationship milestone when Noni’s boyfriend spontaneously proposes. What should be a celebratory moment quickly becomes the beginning of another round of friendship drama, romance and questionable decisions.
The sequel takes the duo from Johannesburg to Cape Town, where an already strained friendship is put to the ultimate test during what should have been a memorable bachelorette getaway. Fulu Modibedi returns as Dineo alongside Tumi Morake as Noni, with Buntu Petse, Keke Mphuthi, Yonda Thomas and Thabiso Rammusi also starring. Directed by Rethabile Ramaphakela and Katleho Ramaphakela, this is one reunion that promises to be as messy, funny and familiar as fans could hope for.
How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents – 30 October 2026

Meeting the parents is stressful enough. Now imagine doing it while accidentally exposing your future father-in-law’s secret affair — with Diwali only days away. Welcome to How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents. The latest entry in the How to Ruin universe follows Mmabatho Nkomo, an overachieving perfectionist determined to make the right impression when she meets her fiancé’s traditional Indian family. Unfortunately, her plan goes spectacularly wrong, leaving her scrambling to repair the damage before the families completely fall apart.
Rosemary Zimu-Mnguni stars as Mmabatho opposite Kyle Clark, with Jailoshini Naidoo, Koobeshen Naidoo, Sonia Mbele, Meshack Mavuso, Luthando “BU” Mthembu, Denise Zimba and Ashish Gangapersad also featuring. The Burnt Onion Productions and Urban Vision collaboration brings two families, different traditions and one very chaotic Diwali together, which sounds like exactly the kind of family gathering you should watch from a safe distance.
Mojo Brookzz: I Know You Lying – 6 October 2026

If your October needs a little comedy before the family drama begins, Mojo Brookzz: I Know You Lying has you covered. The Chicago comedian makes his Netflix debut with a stand-up special that promises plenty of unfiltered observations and big laughs. Brookzz born Dyon Brooks takes aim at everything from relationships and freaky partners to the wild world of BBL culture, while also sharing the story of his niece’s memorable coming-out present. The special was filmed at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theatre and marks a major Netflix moment for a comedian whose career has rapidly grown from club stages to much larger venues. Directed by Mike “Homeless Pimp” Lavin, I Know You Lying arrives globally on 6 October, giving viewers an early-month dose of comedy before Netflix starts unleashing its bigger October releases.
TYSON – 13 October 2026

Few sporting figures have lived a life as turbulent, controversial and fascinating as Mike Tyson, and Netflix‘s four-part documentary TYSON promises to look beyond the boxing highlights. The series traces Tyson’s journey from a chaotic upbringing in Brooklyn to becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history and one of the most recognisable figures in sports. Across four hour-long episodes, Tyson reflects on his rise, fame, controversies, personal struggles and transformation, with interviews featuring the former champion and people from his inner circle.
Directed by Floyd Russ, whose credits include Untold and American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing, the documentary aims to offer a deeply personal look at the man behind the headlines. Whether you know Tyson from the ring, his larger-than-life public persona or his later reinvention, TYSON promises plenty to unpack.
Love Is Blind: Season 11: Boston – 14 October 2026

Pack your emotional baggage and head to Boston, because the pods are opening again. Love Is Blind Season 11 introduces 30 Boston singles hoping to find a connection strong enough to lead to marriage, all before they have actually seen one another. Hosted once again by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the latest instalment follows the familiar experiment: singles date through the pods, build emotional connections, propose sight unseen and only then meet their chosen partner face-to-face. From there, the couples have to navigate living together, meeting family and planning a wedding while discovering whether the connection they built without physical attraction can survive real-world pressure. And because this is Love Is Blind, viewers already know the question is not simply whether they will fall in love. It is whether they will actually make it down the aisle.
Animals: 9 October 2026

Ben Affleck is back in the director’s chair and this time, he is putting himself right in the middle of a nightmare. Animals follows Los Angeles mayoral candidate Mark Kimball and his wife Abigail, played by Kerry Washington, whose carefully constructed life is shattered when their son is kidnapped. With a ransom demanded and time running out, the couple is forced to find a way to get the money while confronting secrets they have kept from each other.
Affleck directs and co-writes the thriller, which also stars Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun, Adriana Paz, Luis Gerardo Méndez and Ray Fisher. The film explores just how far parents will go to protect their child and what happens when a seemingly perfect political family has everything to hide.
The Diplomat: Season 4 – 15 October 2026

Kate Wyler has survived international crises, political power plays and a marriage that could probably use its own diplomatic mission. Now The Diplomat is back for Season 4 and things are about to get even messier. Keri Russell returns as Kate, alongside Rufus Sewell as Hal Wyler, with Allison Janney returning as Grace Penn and Bradley Whitford as Todd Penn. Following the explosive events of Season 3, Kate is dealing with an increasingly complicated relationship with her husband while navigating a political landscape where trusting the wrong person could have enormous consequences.
The new season promises more political manoeuvring, personal betrayals and the deliciously complicated Kate-and-Hal dynamic that has kept viewers hooked. All eight episodes arrive on 15 October, meaning Netflix subscribers can once again settle in for a binge of international intrigue.
Is It Cake? Halloween: Season 2 – 9 October 2026

Halloween gets deliciously weird when Is It Cake? Halloween returns for a second season. Hosted by Mikey Day, the special brings back six talented cake artists who specialise in making hyper-realistic creations that look like anything but cake. This time, the bakers are going full spooky season, creating enormous Halloween-themed replicas designed to fool celebrity judges. And because the entire point is to make viewers question their own eyesight, expect plenty of moments where something that looks like an ordinary object turns out to be several layers of cake.
The three-episode special features celebrity judges including Bianca Belair, Blippi and Lil Rel Howery in the opening episode, with Wednesday stars Hunter Doohan, Isaac Ordonez and Joy Sunday appearing in another. It arrives on 9 October — just in time for Halloween viewing.
Nobody Wants This: Season 3 – 22 October 2026

Joanne and Noah are officially entering a new chapter — and yes, that means they are finally moving in together. Nobody Wants This Season 3 brings back Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as the unlikely couple as they attempt to figure out what happens after the “will they, won’t they?” part. The new season shifts the focus to the realities of building a life together, complete with new firsts, family complications and the familiar humour that has made Joanne and Noah’s relationship such a fan favourite. Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn also return, while Andrew Rannells, Keyla Monterroso Mejia and Sarah Silverman join the cast in recurring roles.
With 10 new episodes dropping on 22 October, the romantic comedy is bringing a new phase of the relationship — but that does not mean the drama is going anywhere.
Lupin: Part 4 – 23 October 2026

Assane Diop may have tried to leave Lupin behind, but apparently the gentleman thief had other plans. Omar Sy returns for Lupin Part 4, four years after the events of the previous instalment. Assane is still in prison and determined to serve his sentence, keep his promise to his son and build a quieter future. Naturally, that plan does not last. The arrival of a new threat pulls Assane back towards the world of elaborate schemes, disguises and impossible heists, forcing him to once again embrace his Lupin persona. Returning cast members include Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine and Laïka Blanc-Francard.
All eight episodes of the new season arrive on 23 October, bringing one of Netflix‘s biggest international crime franchises back to Paris for another round of clever cons and stylish escapes.
Doctor X: Mafia in White – 9 October 2026

If medical dramas with a serious dose of ego, corruption and impossible surgeries are your thing, Doctor X: Mafia in White is worth putting on the October radar. The Korean drama follows an enigmatic and brilliant surgeon who arrives at a hospital where power, politics and corruption have become almost as important as saving patients. Kim Ji-won leads the cast as Gye Su-jeong, a fearless surgeon who refuses to play by the hospital’s rules and quickly finds herself challenging the powerful forces controlling the institution.
She stars alongside Lee Jung-eun, Son Hyun-joo and Kim Woo-seok. The series is a Korean reimagining of the Japanese medical drama Doctor-X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon, bringing together medical battles, institutional corruption and plenty of personality clashes.
The first episodes arrive on 9 October, with new episodes rolling out through November.
October’s Netflix watchlist is officially stacked
From South African friendship chaos and family drama to international romance, comedy, crime and documentaries, Netflix is making sure October comes with plenty to watch. Seriously Single Too brings Dineo and Noni back into our lives, while How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents closes out the month with another very South African take on family, culture and the kind of secrets that should probably stay secret.
Then there is Tyson, Boston’s pod experiment, Kate Wyler’s latest crisis, Assane Diop’s return and another season of Joanne and Noah. Basically, whether you’re here for romance, laughs, family chaos, scandals, cake that isn’t actually cake or someone pulling off an impossible heist — October has something waiting in the queue.
