Fulu Modibedi as Dineo
Dineo is back, but the woman who once treated finding a husband like a full-time occupation has entered a different chapter of her life.

In the original Seriously Single, Dineo was a serial monogamist who believed every relationship could be the one. She fell in love with the intention of getting married, only to find herself repeatedly dumped. When her relationship with Lunga Sibiya (Bohang Moeko) fell apart, she was forced to confront a life she had spent years avoiding: being single. With Noni (Tumi Morake) encouraging her to embrace independence, Dineo began learning that being alone and being lonely are not the same thing.
Now, Seriously Single Too finds her navigating a new phase of single life, but personal growth doesn’t mean every old habit disappears overnight. Her Cape Town getaway brings fresh romantic complications, including Khai (Thabiso Rammusi), a wealthy man who enters the picture through Sasa (Buntu Petse). Their encounter takes an interesting turn when neither seems particularly keen to let the other know just how much the night meant. Dineo’s journey remains relatable because her biggest challenge has never simply been finding love. It’s learning not to measure her worth by whether someone chooses her.
Where you’ve seen Fulu before: Fulu Modibedi is an award-winning South African actress who studied musical theatre at Tshwane University of Technology. She made her television debut in Remix before starring as Anzani in Scandal!. Her breakthrough film performance came in Sara Blecher’s Ayanda (2015), where she played the title character and earned major recognition, including the SAFTA Golden Horn for Best Actress in a Feature Film and an Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She has also appeared in The Lucky Specials, Isidingo, Ring of Lies, Still Breathing and other South African film and television productions.
2. Tumi Morake as Noni
If Dineo is the romantic optimist, Noni is the friend who would rather interrogate the fine print than believe the fairy tale.

Confident, funny and seemingly unbothered, Noni has always approached relationships with caution. Her philosophy is simple: never get too attached, and nobody gets the chance to hurt you. But that emotional armour also keeps people from seeing the insecurities underneath.
In the first film, Noni helps Dineo navigate heartbreak and rediscover the possibilities of single life. In the sequel, however, their friendship faces a different kind of test. Enter Sasa, Dineo’s new best friend. With someone else suddenly occupying a place that Noni may have assumed was hers, the old friendship dynamics begin to shift. There are missed gestures, unspoken expectations and uncomfortable reminders that two people can know each other for years without knowing everything about each other’s lives. Then there’s Max, whose proposal forces Noni to confront the possibility of a future that looks rather different from her usual commitment-averse approach. Noni may be the friend with all the advice, but Seriously Single Too asks what happens when she has to take some of it herself.
Where you’ve seen Tumi Morake before: An award-winning comedian, actress, writer and television presenter, Morake built her comedy career through stand-up before becoming one of South Africa’s best-known comedic personalities. Her screen credits include Kota Life Crisis, The Queen, Black Tax and The Bantu Hour. She has also hosted Our Perfect Wedding S4, Red Cake – Not the Cooking Show and WTFTumi. In 2018, she was announced as one of the comedians featured in Netflix’s Comedians of the World. In 2024, she was one of the featured stand-up comedians in the debut lineup of the Laugh Africa Comedy Festival and was a roast panelist on The Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini. A year later, she also hosted the Showmax Roast of Helen Zille.
3. Buntu Petse as Sasa
Every friendship story needs a little disruption, and Sasa arrives with the potential to cause plenty of it.

Introduced in Seriously Single Too, Sasa is Dineo’s other best friend. She brings a fresh energy into Dineo’s world, but her closeness with Dineo also exposes just how much Noni may have taken their own friendship for granted. The tension isn’t necessarily about anyone deliberately trying to replace anyone else. It’s about the uncomfortable reality that friendships evolve, new people come along, and the rules we thought everyone understood are not always rules everyone has agreed to. Sasa also organises a party for Dineo, creating the setting for one of those moments when information gets out before anyone is ready to share it. And then a gift that highlights the difference between what Sasa and Noni do for Dineo, and the cracks in the friendship become harder to ignore. Sasa’s arrival gives the sequel a new way to explore an old question: what happens when your best friend finds another best friend?
Where you’ve seen Buntu Petse before: Petse rose to prominence as Nontle Majola in Generations: The Legacy before taking a leading role in Netflix’s campus comedy-drama Miseducation, playing Mbali Hadebe. Her work across South African television has established her as a familiar face to audiences, and Seriously Single Too brings her into another Netflix story about relationships, identity and the complications of growing up.
4. Keke Mphuthi as Bontle
Some characters bring the romance, others bring the complications, and then there are the people who make the entire situation even more entertaining simply by being themselves.

Bontle, played by Keke Mphuthi, adds another dimension to the film’s supporting circle. As Noni’s cousin, she brings family into a story already dealing with the messy business of friendship and relationships.
Mphuthi’s performance is particularly entertaining, providing some welcome comic relief amid the emotional chaos. Bontle has her own life to enjoy, while her husband, Lefa, takes on the domestic responsibilities back home. It’s a setup that adds another perspective to the film’s relationships: not every couple has to fit the same mould, and not every household follows traditional expectations.
Where you’ve seen Keke Mphuthi before: Mphuthi is known for her work in South African television, including 1Magic drama series Unmarried, and The Throne. She also starred in Netflix original series The Brave Ones and her film credits include Kedibone and she now joins the word of Seriously Single as Bontle.
Yonda Thomas as Max
Max is the kind of man who complicates Noni’s carefully constructed rules about love simply by being sincere.

In the original Seriously Single, Max was introduced as a warm-hearted, funny and free-spirited romantic. His eccentric style and sarcastic humour made him stand out, but beneath that was someone who genuinely believed in love. His problem was that being a good guy didn’t always translate into being the guy someone wanted to stay with.
In the sequel, Max’s relationship with Noni reaches a major turning point when he proposes. He also raises the possibility of leaving the country, putting a bigger question on the table: what does a shared future actually look like when two people have spent so much time protecting themselves from commitment? The proposal is not just a romantic milestone. It challenges Noni to decide whether the relationship she has been trying not to take too seriously is one she is prepared to take seriously after all.
And because this is Seriously Single Too, the news doesn’t remain safely between the people involved. Dineo finds out about it by accident at a party, adding another complication to a friendship already under strain.
Where you’ve seen Yonda Thomas before: Thomas first attracted attention as a finalist on SABC1’s Class Act in 2010 before taking the lead role of Mvelo Nobela in the drama series Fallen. His television credits include Wild at Heart, Isidingo, Red Ink and How To Ruin Christmas. He has continued to build a career across South African film as well, including his work in Happiness Ever After, Yoh! Bestie and Seriously Single.
Thabiso Rammusi as Khai

Khai enters the story as the wealthy man Sasa introduces to Dineo, and the attraction between them quickly leads to a night together. But the morning after is where things become interesting. Neither seems particularly eager to appear more invested than the other, and both attempt to get ahead of the situation by acting as though what happened was no big deal. It’s a familiar dating-game move: if you can convince the other person that you don’t care, perhaps you can protect yourself from being the one who cares too much.
For Dineo, who has spent much of her life navigating the emotional highs and lows of romance, Khai offers a different kind of complication. This is not necessarily about planning a forever together. It’s about learning how to navigate attraction without turning every encounter into a referendum on her worth.
Where you’ve seen Thabiso Rammusi before: Rammusi is known for his work in South African television and film, including Adulting and Happiness Is. His appearance as Khai adds another romantic complication to Dineo’s story, where even a seemingly casual encounter can become a question of pride, vulnerability and who is willing to admit they care.
Harriet Manamela as Aunt Gontse
When a film is filled with people trying to manage their feelings, hide their intentions and pretend everything is fine, a character who simply says what everyone else is thinking can be a gift. Enter Aunt Gontse.

Played by veteran actress Harriet Manamela, Aunt Gontse brings an unapologetically honest presence to the story. She is the kind of aunt who doesn’t need a carefully worded group chat to communicate her opinion. If something needs to be said, she says it. Her scenes provide some of the film’s funniest moments. Manamela’s performance also adds a familiar family flavour to the film. There is something instantly recognisable about an aunt who can offer affection and a reality check in the same breath.
Where you’ve seen Harriet Manamela before: Manamela is one of South Africa’s most recognisable television actresses, best known for her long-running role as Meikie Maputla in Skeem Saam. Her extensive screen credits include Yizo Yizo, Soul City, Isidingo, Rhythm City, When We Were Black, The Wild and Tjovitjo. She has built a career playing memorable characters across South African television and film. She currently stars in Mzansi Magic series Stokvel and joins the world of Seriously Single Too.
Motlatsi Mafatshe as Lefa
While the women head to Cape Town, Lefa is holding things down at home.

Played by Motlatsi Mafatshe, Lefa is Bontle’s husband and the stay-at-home partner looking after the children while his wife enjoys her time away. It’s a small but welcome reminder that relationships are shaped by the practical arrangements people make, not just the grand romantic gestures they share.
Where you’ve seen Motlatsi Mafatshe before: Mafatshe is known for playing Sechaba Moloi in Isidingo, a role that made him familiar to many South African television viewers. His other credits include When We Were Black, It’s Complicated, House of Zwide and How to Ruin Christmas. He currently stars as Rhami in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Nyala O.
What Seriously Single Too is about

The beauty of Seriously Single Too is that romance is only one part of the story. Dineo and Noni are trying to work out what love looks like at different stages of their lives, but they are also confronting what it means to grow alongside someone without necessarily growing in the same direction. Dineo is learning to embrace her independence without needing another person to validate it. Noni must reckon with the vulnerability that comes with letting someone in. Sasa’s arrival exposes the insecurities that can sit quietly inside long friendships, while Max and Khai bring two very different kinds of romantic uncertainty into the mix.
Then there are the smaller moments: the gifts, the assumptions, the things left unsaid and the accidental revelations that can turn a celebration into an emotional minefield. Because sometimes the biggest threat to a friendship isn’t one enormous betrayal. It’s a series of little moments that make someone wonder whether they still matter as much as they used to. And in a world where social media encourages everyone to present a perfectly curated life, admitting that you’re jealous, lonely, insecure or simply unsure of what comes next can be its own kind of bravery.
Ultimately, Seriously Single Too celebrates the resilience of women trying to figure it all out – love, friendship, independence and everything in between. Cape Town might be the destination, but the real journey is figuring out who gets to come along for the ride.
